On November 6, 2013, Emomali Rahmon was re-elected on the alternative basis and by nation-wide voting and assumed an office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for a seven-year term

Emomali Rahmon, the candidate from the People's Democratic Party, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan and the Union of Youth of Tajikistan received 83.6% of the votes.

The candidate from the Party of Economic Reforms Olimjon Boboev received 3.8% of the vote. Tolibbek Bukhoriev, candidate from the Agrarian Party - 4.5%, from the Communist Party Ismoil Talbakov - 5% as well as Abduhalim Gaffarov from the Socialist Party - 1.5%, Saidjafar Ismonov from the Democratic Party - 1 % vote.
