Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan met with Norwegian delegation

Dushanbe, April 26. (NIAT Khovar).-

Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Nizomiddin Zohidov met with Norwegian delegation headed by Norwegian Ambassador to Tajikistan Mr. D. Halverson. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway were included in delegation, as well.

At the meetings beginning Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister welcoming the Norwegian delegation, noted the good level of cooperation between states, and both projects and programs implemented by Norwegian side in Tajikistan. In his turn D. Halverson thanked Tajik side for the opportunity to meet and informed about the Norwegian delegations stay in Tajikistan. Ambassador reported, that the delegation visited Badakhshan region, where they got acquainted with the projects of cross-border cooperation financed by Norway.

As well, interlocutors discussed the issues related with activity of Norwegian non-governmental organization Norwegian Peoples Aid, which works for demining and assistance to Tajikistan in fulfillment of its obligations under the Ottawa Convention.

Deputy Foreign Minister attracted the attention of his interlocutors to opportunity of establishment of cooperation in sphere of hydropower with Tajikistans potential account and Norways experience.

There was noted the necessity of expansion of the trade-economic relations between countries as well. In this regard, there was touched upon the creation of the legal framework of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Norway. (Translated by M.Ismatova)
