Tajik Foreign Minister met with Director of regional Representation of Islamic Development Bank

Dushanbe, February 17. (NIAT “Khovar”).-
On February 14, Tajik Minister of Foreign Affairs Hamrokhon Zarifi and Director of regional Representation of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to Almaty, Kazakhstan Hashim Taleb Maruf discussed issues of organization of the Fifth Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA-V), as well as the participation of IDB delegation headed by its President Ahmad Muhammad Ali.
The sides also discussed IDB participation in further in future large-scale infrastructure projects in Tajikistan, as well as the support of development of banking sector, in particular, in sphere of micro-crediting and small and medium enterprises.
It should be noted that, for condition at the end of 2011 common amount of operations endorsed by IDB for Tajikistan formed over 211 million U.S. dollars.
It should be reminded, that Tajikistan joined IDB in 1996 and from that time IDB has financed 44 investment projects in sphere of health, education, road projects, energy and agriculture.
Currently, 17 projects are being realized by IDB among which are: rehabilitation of energy sector, construction of small hydropower stations in villages, project for regional energy transition, water supply in Dushanbe, construction of the road Shohon-Zighar, construction and , equipping of the inter-district hospital in Dangara and reconstruction of schools, the Department of Information, Press, Analysis and Foreign Policy Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reported.
